The Firm

The common frame with regards of AI is abut replacing humans. The underlying assumption being that one day some form of AI is achieved which can replace the flexibility, adaptability and the capabilities of workers.

Here lies the fault. Because it won’t be one AI that arrives but lots of AI systems which will posses the capabilities of workers.

Finally they arrived at a point where something "solved most of our coordination problems and let us scale to very large projects without any single agent“[.] — embedding shapes

But if there is a n number of systems there still is a coordination problem — which Coase outlines as transaction costs. Assumed AI systems will solve this problem of transaction costs and given the cost of intelligence being zero, it’s just energy and will that defines success.

So the general question is not, will AI replace jobs. It is will AI replace the firm?

Because energy in the form of motivation is what firms currently destroy.
